Certifications & Standards

Internationally Recognized Safety Compliance

Every certification is verified by independent notified bodies and subject to annual surveillance audits.

CE Certification (EU 2016/425)

PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 | EN ISO 12402

CE certification covers essential health and safety requirements for personal flotation devices and inflatable watercraft. TÜV Rheinland audits our production facility annually to verify ongoing compliance.

SOLAS — Safety of Life at Sea

SOLAS Chapter III | LSA Code

SOLAS approval requires independent testing by a notified body for buoyancy, strength, visibility, and automatic activation. Our Life Vest Pro carries full SOLAS type approval with MED certification.

USCG Type III / Type V

46 CFR Part 160 | USCG Approval

USCG approval requires testing by a CG-recognized independent lab. Type V approval includes hybrid inflatable designs that require manual or automatic activation.

BSCI Social Compliance

amfori BSCI Code of Conduct

BSCI compliance is a prerequisite for European retailers and importers. Our current BSCI rating is "C" (Good), audited by SGS.

REACH & RoHS Compliance

EU REACH Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 | RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU

REACH compliance ensures no restricted SVHC substances above threshold limits. Regular third-party lab testing verifies ongoing compliance for every production batch.

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management

ISO 9001:2015 | TÜV Rheinland Certified

ISO 9001 certification requires documented quality policies, internal audits, management reviews, corrective action procedures, and traceable production records.

Our Testing Process

How We Test for Safety

1.25x

Working pressure inflation test — every chamber is inflated to 1.25x rated pressure for a 24-48h pressure hold

24hr

Buoyancy retention test — life vests are submerged for 24 hours to verify flotation performance

100%

Every boat undergoes mandatory seam peel verification, air retention, and full systems check before shipping

What Our Partners Say
“We've sourced safety equipment from multiple suppliers across Asia. Aquafarer is the only manufacturer that provided full CE documentation, SOLAS certificates, and third-party test reports upfront — without being asked.”

Overpressure Safety

RIB Tube Pressure
Management in Hot Climates

Inflatable tube pressure increases with temperature. Understanding and managing overpressure prevents damage and ensures safe operation in tropical and desert environments.

Boyle Pressure Relief Valves

Aquafarer RIB tubes are equipped with overpressure relief valves that automatically vent excess pressure above the rated maximum. Prevents seam stress and potential tube burst from solar heating.

Morning-to-Noon Pressure Change

A tube inflated to 3.5 PSI at 20C may reach 4.5+ PSI at 40C sun exposure. Always inflate to the lower end of the recommended range in hot climates and let the relief valve manage excess pressure.

Recommended Operating Pressures

PVC tubes: 3.0-3.5 PSI operating, 4.5 PSI max. Hypalon tubes: 3.5-4.0 PSI operating, 5.0 PSI max. Always test at 1.25x rated (4.4 PSI for PVC, 5.0 PSI for Hypalon) per Aquafarer QC standards.

Sun Exposure Best Practices

Store RIBs in shaded areas when not in use. Use UV-protective covers for extended mooring. Check and adjust tube pressure before and after peak sun hours. Never exceed maximum rated pressure.

Emergency Depressurization

If tube feels overly firm or relief valve is venting, release air via the Halkey-Roberts or military valve until pressure returns to operating range. Carry a pressure gauge for accurate readings.
